Tallman (Barry) and Dr. Paula Delpech (Barry) with e-board members of the
student organization MAPS.
In an event co-sponsored by the
Department of Biology, the Minority Association of Pre-health Students hosted a
panel discussion on health disparities in observance of Minority Health
Month. The event brought together panelists
from Barry, the University of Georgia-Athens, and the University of Miami
Miller School of Medicine with wide-ranging areas of expertise – nursing,
epidemiology, human genetics, and bioethics.
The panel discussion stimulated meaningful dialogue on the underlying
causes and potential solutions to this global issue.
MAPS is
a multicultural student organization with members from undergraduate (biology,
