Kickball for Heart Walk Fundraiser

Today, it was all about Sun, Fun and getting a little dirty on the softball field! M.A.P.S hosted their one-day kickball tournament on Saturday, September 28th. The competitors were fellow clubs from Barry University campus (Lambda Theta Phi, M.A.L.E.S., Tri-Beta Honor Society, Chemistry Club & Pre-Dental Club). The objective of the event was to generate funds to donate to the Miami-Dade Heart Walk Association!

 

As busy college students we sometimes get so engulfed in our academic lives that we forget about the outside world. Taking some time out of our busy schedule to help with a worthy cause turned out to be a major success. Today, there was unlimited determination, sweat, team spirit and laughter amongst all the organizations that turned out to show their support. With that said, it all came down to the nail-biting face-off between Team M.A.P.S/Lambda Theta Phi and  M.A.L.E.S., with the combined team winning the championship match with a score of 5-0.

 The members of M.A.P.S would like to express heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a role in the event’s success. Thank you all for donating your time and money in helping to save someone’s life! You ROCK!!!

 Hey Everyone!!

So we've gotten through our first MAPS meeting (yesterday)! It was great seeing all those who came out. We have a lot of events planned for this semester. Some of you expressed a great interest in different events that will be held in the near future. We ask that you keep track of these and also we will be reminding you through emails!! We hope that you are excited to come out and join us at the next meeting!

!!!The next General Body meeting will be on September 17th 2013 at 4:00 PM in Thompson Hall in the Kostka room!!!
