A Day in the Life: UM Style

Students from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine visited Barry University on September 25, 2012 to speak with members of the Minority Association of Pre-Health Students. While here, they offered insight into their personal experiences with applying to, matriculating, and surviving medical school. MAPS members asked questions regarding MCAT preparation, the seemingly intimidating application process, finding a mentor, choosing the right medical program, and ways to remain passionate about medicine. After the meeting was adjourned, these gracious students stayed to mix and mingle with the med school hopefuls in attendance. We had such a great time absorbing the inspirational words and valuable information, thus, restoring hope and motivating us to keep placing one foot ahead of the other until we are walking across the threshold of our first gross anatomy class as Medical Students of X, Y, and Z University. We hope that you will join us for our next meeting!

Maps would like to give a special thanks to:
Mishka Peart, Thomas Hughes, Dimitri Augustin, Abir Hussein, Tamara Gayle, Darryl Cannady, Taj, and Tamera.
