Congrats, Congrats!

CONGRATULATIONS Barry MAPS for being the organization with the most community service participation in Barry's Student Organization Council (SOC).

Thanks to your involvement it was made possible. You all rock for donating your time to the community you live in!

Loving the Boobies All Over Miami

October provokes thoughts of Susan G. Komen, breast cancer awareness, pink t-shirts and ribbons, etc. This October MAPS went out and got involved for breast cancer awareness with the same thoughts in mind. Women's Breast Health Initiative, an organization in the greater Miami devoted to informing and equipping women in preventing breast cancer, organized a campaign on Saturday, Oct. 20th in South Miami. Barry University, yet again, made a great impression with MAPS and individual students attending to volunteer. 336 families were informed and/or assisted in getting free breast exams that morning thanks to all those that participated. Thanks to your involvement we made an impact in shortening the gap in minority groups' health disparities.

Those of you that couldn't make it, we truly hope to see your faces in the pictures below next time.

Barry Represents the Bucs Well!

As many of you know MAPS, AMSA, TriBeta Honor Society, and the BMS program teamed up to raise funds for the American Heart Association. We arranged a kickball tournament the weekend before the Heart Walk at FIU and collected around $200. The tournament also showed AMSA members to be the athletic champs of the Biomedical organizations. The collaboration surpassed the goal for fundraising by far with a total of $500+ collected in Barry's name for the Heart Association. Barry University was well represented with the large group from all these organizations and the large donation made on the school's behalf. We look forward to topping off this year's donation next time. Stay tuned to see Barry go big or go home again.
