In observance of Black History Month 2014, MAPS and
Career Services co-sponsored a visit by Dr. Lanalee Araba Sam on February 25. Dr. Sam is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Medical
School. She is a board-certified
obstetrician, gynecologist and robotic surgeon, the originator of the Concierge
Obstetrics subspecialty, and founder of myEliteOB, an innovative concierge
maternity and childbirth program that combines holistic maternity care with
concierge-level services; she performed the first-ever robotic surgery in Palm
Beach County. Dr. Sam joined pre-med
students for an inspirational presentation on the pursuit of excellence in leadership, professional development and
community involvement
