This is an opportunity to meet and interact with students already in the graduate program to which you aspire. Students in MD, DO, podiatry, nursing, and physician assistant programs from Barry, FIU, UM and Nova will be in attendance to share their insights and expertise with you!

University of Miami Student National Medical Association Mock Interviews!

Greetings MAPS members,

The time has come for University of Miami Student National Medical Association Mock Interviews!  This fall's mock interviews will take place on Tuesday, November 19th at 6pm on the UM medical campus.  

We've extended the deadline to sign-up to this THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14th at 11:59PM 

If you are a current dues paid Barry MAPS member please reply back to this email if you are interested in participating. (If you would like to participate but have not paid your dues yet please see our treasure cyndie.derne@mymail.barry.edu or stop by NHS room 309).  

 

 

We have a limited number of spots available and it is crucial that you only sign up if you are sure you are able to attend.  The evening should conclude around 8:15pm.

The evening will include a brief 30min presentation on the medical school interview process and multiple short interview sessions with medical/graduate students.  More information will come next week regarding the format for the evening, dress code, signing in with security, etc.

We are also trying something different this year and would like to have a couple of practice graduate (PhD) school interview sessions as part of the mock interview night for those interested. Please indicate if you are interested in this and we will contact you with more information.

MAPS Presented the First Annual Show Your Natural Aptitude for Science (SYNAFS) Bowl



 



MAPS recently held the first annual S.Y.N.A.F.S. Bowl on November 2nd. The competition was a showcase of knowledge of different science clubs at Barry. Questions for the competition were taken from the biological and physical sciences.

 

 

We would like to congratulate the Chemistry club on their victory. They are the first winners of the S.Y.N.A.F.S. Bowl!!!

MAPS Participated in the 2013 Miami-Dade Heart Walk

MAPS joined members of Tri-beta to participate in the 2013 Miami-Dade Heart Walk at Marlins Park on Saturday October 26.

On November 2nd,2013 YES! Tomorrow!! Barry MAPS is hosting their first ever S.Y.N.A.F.S. (Show Your Natural Aptitude For Science) Bowl at Andreas, Room 111. The Game show event is created to all students who wish to showcase their cognitive talents alongside their respective student organizations. So come out and show off your smart skills and even prep yourselves on some DAT, NCLEX, MCAT or GRE questions! The event time is held from 1pm-3pm! Come join us and have some fun!
